Cest La Vie

Hello thanks for stopping by my little part of cyberspace today!

Sharing a couple of layouts I created a little while ago now with the very pretty Cest La Vie collection.  Another super pretty collection from Couture Creations.

I used the ephemera pack and the 12 x 12 paper pad and added some metal and chipboard too.

The 12 x 12 paper pad has some beautiful pages in with those really pretty blossoms on. Soft muted tones

This last one I added a bit of stamping around the white space.  I have to admit, I'm not really a fan of how it turned out so I'm thinking of ripping the main part off and popping it onto some white cardstock and then leaving it.  It just looks a little like overload for me :)

Until next time

Sue's Artsy Ephemera

Hi hi!

Hope you are all well

So back in June I was lucky enough to go over to Brisbane for the Scrapbook Expo.  We had the most fantastic weekend.  I went with a friend and also met my dear friend Adriana who I have had the please of working along side of with Couture Creations.

It was the perfect chance to meet up with friends and make new ones too.

While there the very talented Sue Smyth released some Arty Ephemera packs and I was lucky enough to have a play with them.

Here is what I created

How beautiful are those vintage roses!  They remind me of the flowers that bloomed in my nan's garden.

This next one is my favourite I think.  So many pretty little elements to cluster and tuck under and I love that sweet little girl that is nestled in the flowers at the bottom.

This one I made a cluster with a combination of the ephemera using the tag, the flowers and also cutting out the little vintage girl.  She actually had a little chicken sitting on her hand but I fussy cut out one of the butterflies and replaced it with that.

Misty Mountains by Kaisercraft

Hello and welcome back!

Today I am sharing some layouts I have created using the super pretty Misty Mountains collection by Kaisercraft

Seriously how cute are those kiddos of mine?

I also used my foil machine to foil some elements as well.

This next one has a big cluster of flowers down the side that I made first in one piece and then adhered later.  I added some chippy and some more foiled elements too.

I actually managed to fit three photos on this page and lots of pretties AND you can still see each photo.  Sometimes I find that after I put all the pretty stuff on you end up "searching" for your photo on your layout.

One 2 Canoe

Hello!

Today I am sharing a couple of layouts from the super pretty One 2 Canoe.  This collection is called Twilight.  I love the soft colours and tones.

I kept these really simple using just the die cut embellishments and a little stitching.

Think the black and white photos also really compliment the soft tones in the paper.

Scrapping with Simple Stories

Hey hey!

Welcome back.

Sharing a couple of layouts today using a Simple Stories collection.  I love the quirky ephemera and embellishments in this collection.  Like that cute little bird and the shoe as well as the little house.

Here is the first layout I created.  A layout of myself which is very unusual!

This pic was taken while we were holidaying in Sydney and enjoying a cold beer at a pub in Manly

Love how this second one turned out too.  Quirky little sunglasses and that house.  It all came together really easy and I just added a bit more interest with stamping the background.

Forever

Hello and welcome back.

Something a bit different today.  A layout with just about everything chucked at it. LOL

I have used some pretty 49 and Market paper and teamed it up with some chipboard and flowers.

I then went to town with the prills.

A little too much you think?

Sometimes its nice to do something a little different.  I like how it turned out.  You can still see the photo and its a bit of a change to the nice clean white layouts I usually do.

Happy Together

I have been doing a bit of catch up blog work recently.  My little part of cyberspace has been well and truly neglected so some of these layouts are a little old.

Here is one that I completed that is way out of my comfort zone.  Mixed media! ARRGHH!!!

I so struggle with mixed media!  Nothing ever seems to splat where it is sposed to and it always looks like a hot mess. This one however I was happy with!

I was playing with the new Ken Oliver Colour Burst powders.  Wow! Now they are fun to play with.

So I did some embossing paste on the background after I used the powders then added some stamping as well in two different oxide inks.

I then covered those cool chippy pieces (from Dusty Attic) with some embossing powder in blue and then added some Prima wax.

Here's a closer look at some of the details.

Magnolia Lane

Hey hey!

Thanks for stopping by

I have a couple of layouts to share today using an older paper collection.  So going back a couple of years ago Sue Smyth released the beautiful Magnolia Lane collection.  I did do a few things with the collection back then but I fell in love with it all over again and decided to dust of the remainders of the papers.  I'm never really confident in my own work but these two pages I am so happy with!

I used a white background and did lots of stamping and fussy cutting.

Here's the second one.  Such pretty papers

I was so happy with these two layouts that I have put then in a frame and are hanging on my wall.

Thanks for letting me share!

Until next time

Capturing the Moment

Hello and welcome to my blog

Today I have something a little different.  I have been asked a few times on how I put together a layout.  So I have put together a short video to show you how this layout came about.   A step by step video for you to follow along with.  Would love to see what you do too!

Here is a couple of close up shots

Thanks so much for stopping by

Scrapping with my cameo

Hi!  Hope you are well.

Sharing with you today a layout I created a while ago now using my cameo.

My dear hubby gave me one as a gift for our wedding anniversary and I must say I was a little hesitant at first to use it.  I finally got brave and man - I don't know why it took me so long!

Here is my layout that created.

So I cut the background out on some light weight chipboard.  Originally my idea was to use it as a stencil which I did by gently sponging on inks through the chippy to the back of a white card.  But - when I did that I realised I like the effect on the chippy more than the back piece so I discarded that and carried on.

I added some epoxy like cogs and altered them slightly with some Prima waxes.

Keep scrapping

More Mixed Media Cards

Hi and welcome back.

I have some more mixed media cards to share today and again another successful morning spent.  Happy with the results.

These ones are more on the feminine side.

For both my cards I used the distress oxide inks on my backgrounds before stamping and splattering paint.

On this card I also used my silicone moulds to make some lace embellishments

This one is my favourite of the two.  Think its the colours.  The little frame on the front is also made from a silicone mould and embossing paste.

Scrapping with Le Petit Jardin

Hello and thank you for stopping by

Today on my doorstep waiting for me was the new Let Petit Jardin collection from Couture Creations.

The colours are really quite pretty and so fresh!  I jumped in straight away and came up with two layouts.

I have had this pic of my mum and dad for a little while now and have been waiting to scrap it.  It wasn't the best of photos as it was taken on my phone and it was getting late and a bit dark, but its a special shot as it was taken on their 50th wedding anniversary.  This collection really seemed to work perfectly with it.

Here is a close up of one of the flower clusters.

This second layout came together so quickly.  I fell in love with the die cut flowers so I used them as a starting point and worked my layout around it.  I love the fresh white background.

Here's a close up of some of the details.  That birdcage I inked with my distress inks and then added some gold foil over the top to give it a bit of an aged look.

Think I will definitely using the collection a little more!

Until next time

Kaisercraft - Factory 42

Hello friends!

Back to some nice clean scrapping and white background pages.  I must admit I do love a white background!

Today I was playing with this lovely collection from Kaisercraft.  Factory 42 this is called and its terrific for all the men in your life!  Don't very often get a great mans collection but this works a treat! The pipes were what I used as some inspiration.  I really wanted to incorporate them in my layout.  Really happy with what I came up with.

This second one was put together with just the left over bits and using the sticker sheet as well.  Added some stamping for a little more interest too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time

Perfect Moments with 49 and Market

Hi and welcome

Just a quick share today.  I created this layout a while ago.  These papers are so divine so again it took me a little while to get comfortable putting anything on it.

I used some Dusty Attic and Blue Fern chippy and a wad load of flowers

Love how this turned out!

Until next time

Mixed Media Cards

Hello friends

Today I have some mixed media cards to share AND they are male oriented cards!  I know, who would of thought?  Generally my work is very clean and ordered and as much as I love the look of mixed media and grunge, its not often that I master it.  Mine ALWAYS looks like a hot mess!

Anyway I had a couple of birthdays coming up, that of my son who was turning 18 and my hubby so I had to get busy.

Here is the card I made for my son.

I used my oxide inks to make the background then added some texture paste and stamping.  Added my chippy and some paint splatters and - what do you know?  I was actually happy with the result!

Next is the card I made for my hubby.  He always complains that I never make him a card so really had to put the effort in this year!

Again I have used my distress oxides for the colour on the background.  Added some texture paste and some stamping.  My chippy which I added some foil to and my sentiment and DONE!

Super easy and for once happy with the results.

Until next time

Reject Shop Goodies

Hello and welcome to my part of cyber world :)

A little while ago I was looking in The Reject Shop.  Its a shop we have here in Australia which is probably similar to the dollar stores in the states.  While just browsing I came across these gorgeous 6 x 6 scrapbook pads and matching embellishments.

I fell in love with the colour and the foiling on the pages and while the quality wasn't quite as good as our big brand scrapping suppliers they did make for some really pretty pages.

Here is my first one.

So I grabbed a little bit of chipboard for my middle cluster and stamped the back ground and that was basically it!.  I love how this turned out.  The little caption at the bottom of my photo says "A Beautiful Chaos"  It describes this photo perfectly.  I was a single mum with three small children and life was totally crazy and chaotic but in amongst all that chaos life was beautiful.  And the little ticket that says "Photo Opportunity" - well as you can imagine with 3 small children and being on my own there wasn't many opportunities for photos!

Here is my second layout.

I love how this one turned out too.  I used those circle chipboards and coloured them with oxide inks then sprayed with water.  I love the quirky little embellishments in this.  The Zebra, the coat hanger and those dominoes.  It just all seem to work for me.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope I have inspired you in some small way.

Until next time
