Grateful - Kaisercraft Peachy collection

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Today I have a layout to share with you.  I'm using left overs from a card class I taught last week using the Peachy collection from Kaisercraft.

Yep it is a bit flowery and I have a boy photo but I am more than happy to use flowers on a boy page and I thought the colours were a little neutral so it worked for me :)

So I started out with my traditional white piece of cardstock.  I then added some distress oxide ink around the photo.

I made my cluster from the collectables and also added in a new die.  That one is called Textured Weathered by Kaisercraft and I can see it become a favourite.  A really versatile die for cards or pages.

Here are some close ups

The little wooden tassel is from the Kaisercraft wooden flourishes pack from the same collection and I dipped it into so Versamark in and added the gold glitter embossing powder for some added sparkle.  The other printed tassels just have a thin smear of Kindy Glitz on the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until next time

Family Matters - Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty friends!

Today I am sharing a layout using lots of Dusty pretties and showcasing a photo of my boys when they were much younger.  Its lovely to be able to scrap old photos and re-live those precious moments again while scrapping.

I started off by adding some texture using the Threaded Beads stencil on the background.

I then set about gathering all the chippy I wanted to use.

I have tucked Doily no. 5 under my photo cluster as along with one of the Decorative Frame no. 4 .

Here is a closer look

I also added the String Frame just to highlight my photo a little more.

The Decorative Frame I left raw and just added a thin layer of white gesso to the Doily.

The Leafy Flourish and the birdcage I decided to add a little sparkle to by mixing a combination of green glitter embossing powder along with just a touch of black too.

I used a simple title from the Mini Captions no. 7 to complete my layout.

Wishing you all a happy scrappy day!

Memories with Dusty Attic and 49 & Market

Hey hey friends and welcome back to my blog.

You know how you have that one friend that just "gets you"?  The one that has been there through thick and thin.  The one that has seen you at your ugliest and yet loves you fiercely?  Well todays layout is a photo of myself and that said friend.

This beautiful soul has been by my side through some really crappy moments in my life.  We have had babies at the same time, lost babies at the same time.  Been thru a separation that seen her and her family move to the UK for 3 years and yet over the past 20 plus years she has been my one steadfast.  My one constant in life.

We don't always see much of each other now as we are always busy but when we do catch up its like we were just together yesterday.  I love this chick with all my heart!

Anyhoos here is my layout

I have used the super pretty 49 and Market papers as well as the new laser cut sheets.  Man!  These make creating a dream!  Teamed up of course with awesome Dusty Attic chippy.  I used the perforated mesh which is a favourite for me.  I always seem to go fishing to that in my stash to add to my clusters.

The swirl is the a layering piece  - Decorative Scroll no. 1.  Again I have used just a simple title from Dusty Attic Wordplay.

Here are some close ups

The lace pieces are made from using silicone mats and moulds as well as the little frame on the right hand side and the photo corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until next time

March Inspiration Mood Board - Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty Attic friends

Its my turn to share with you my take on this months AWESOME mood board challenge.

Lets have a look at the mood board first.

Not bad huh?  Not normally colours I would use but that is what I love about these challenges.  Its great to step outside your comfort zone and try things you wouldn't always try.

Anyhoos here is my take on it.

I pulled out some paper from my stash which reminded me a bit of the bark in the photo of the mood board.

I have tucked under my photo cluster that super pretty Lace Ornament which I just embossed with some glitter gold embossing powder.

I then added the Creative Script.  I added gesso before swiping over the top with some distress ink..

Here are a couple of close ups

I added some of the foliage to my flower clusters, and also some perforated mesh (think this is my favourite.  Its always so easy to tuck it under your layers and clusters). I then also tucked under some wood slices too.

To finish my layout I used the title Dream Big from the Captions # 8 which I thought was appropriate as it was a photo taken on the night of my son's high school graduation.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope I have inspired you to have a go at our monthly challenge.
