Kaisercraft Mint Wishes

Hello and welcome back!

I have still been playing with that older collection from Kaisercraft called Mint Wishes.  I'm not usually a fan of green but I have really enjoyed this collection, plus I was able to use it on photos that weren't Christmas.

Here's my layout

I pulled out a lot of older chippy I had laying around.  Some of this was Twiddleybitz which was a Perth company that hasn't been around for some time now so it was good to use it up. I also had a bit of a play with art stones for the first time.

Below is a couple of close ups.

I love that aged birdcage.  To create that effect was really simple.  I just roughly ran a black archival inkpad over the top and then added some touches of Prima gold wax.

I left the little tag on that said Christmas Memories as the photo was taken over the Christmas holidays so it kinda relates.

Lets Get Sketchy January Challenge

Hello and thanks for stopping by

Today I wanted to share with you my layout I created based on the sketch from the Lets Get Sketchy challenge

I created this layout using an older Kaisercraft line called Mint Wishes.  This is actually a Christmas line and I almost had it in a stash of stuff for a garage sale but couldn't quite part with it so I decided I had to use it now or it was going.  Even tho it is a Christmas line there was still lots in that could be used and I loved this pic of my daughter with my husband.

Here is the sketch

I have also added a couple of close ups for you too.

I really busted out some of my older stash here using some chippy from 2 Crafty and also some for Couture Creations along with those oh so pretty Prima flowers.

Until next time

Happy scrapping

My Creative Scrapbook Sketches - January

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog.

So its that time of the year when I start and think about scrapping Christmas pics.  I must admit, I'm not a lover of Christmas photos but this year when I found this gorgeous range from Simple Stories it kinda inspired me to make a start.

I also thought I would have a play along with the sketch from My Creative Scrapbook.  I have been looking at their beautiful kits for a while now and debating whether to get a kit subscription.  The postage is what keeps putting me off but I'm thinking that maybe I might spend some money from Christmas and treat myself.

Anyhoos - here is my take on this months sketch.

And here is the sketch below

Very different for me and definitely a challenge!  First challenge was 4 photos on a page.  I very rarely scrap with more than 2 photos, usually its just one. Also very lineal but hey I thought lets give it a go.

I stuck with my clean white pages and clusters.  This was such a great way of getting more than one photo on a page and I was really happy with the end result.

Here's a couple of close ups too of those clusters

It has been ages since I tried my hand at a sketch!  I had a lot of fun with this one.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until next time

Clustered cards with Kaisercraft

Hello friends I hope this post finds you well!

Thought I would share with you today some cards I made using some pretty new Kaisercraft supplies.

I created these using what I thought was the Everlasting collection but as it happened, I picked up the Scrap Studio collectables and then went and purchased the Everlasting papers by mistake!

I was really tempted to just pop it all aside and when I was at the scrap store next pick up the right collectables but then thought no lets not be wasteful, give it a go.

So I plodded on and was quite happy with the end results.

I added a few diecuts I had laying around from left over projects and also a little bit of left over chippy.  Splattered with a bit of white acrylic paint and they came together very quickly and very easily.

I love to make cards using the collectable packs and just clustering them first and then I make my background for my card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Whisper with Kaisercraft

Hello and welcome back to my blog.

Today I have a layout to share with the new Whisper collection from Kaisercraft.

These are colours I wouldn't normally work with.  Very soft and quite muted but something about them drew me to them.

I have to say I absolutely love the end result!

I started with the white lined paper and added some stamping to the background for a bit of extra texture.

Then I grabbed my Dusty Attic chipboard and also had a bit of a play with some Prima glass glitter.

Here is a closer look at the details

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Midnight - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Hey paper people!

I hope this post finds you well.  Today I am sharing with you a couple of layouts I created with the Cocoa Vanilla collection - Midnight

Such a pretty collection.  I love this company.  SO many lovely products and all designed right here in Australia so its great to support a local company.

For my first layout I used a cut file from the Silhouette Store as my background focal point.

I then added lots of the ephemera and chipboard pieces and finished it off with those super cute litte word stickers.  Yep - its a patterned paper background which is a little unusual for me but I love the pink tones.

My next layout has a little more white space!

Love this pic of my mum and dad.  Again I have used those Pink Paislee doiley stickers along with a good cluster of ephemera and finished it off with those awesome bold titles. .

Thanks again for stopping by

Until next time

Cherish the time - Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by and can I just start by saying how very excited and extremely humbled I am to be part of this top notch team!

I hope I can inspire you in some small way.

Today I have a layout to share with you featuring a photo of my 3 "boys".  That is my two sons and husband.  It isn't very often I get a nice one of the three of them together!  This was taken at my sons 18th birthday so they were in a bit of a celebratory mood!

To start I used some distressed oxide inks on my white background.  Spritzed with a bit of water to give it a mottled look.

I then used some texture paste through the Distressed Grid Stencil.

Next I  made a paper cluster and stapled them in the middle.  This allows me to go back and tuck under all my pretty Dusty chippie.

All my chipboard was covered with Distress Oxide inks.  I find using the distress oxides great as a lot of the time you don't need to gesso the chippie.  It just seems to sit on top and not soak in plus I have to admit - I'm not a real big mixed media person so the less dirty my hands get the happier I am! LOL.

I used the Indian Arrow as my main focal embellishment but to make it pop a little I added some foil in random places.

Here is a close up look.

I also added under my paper clusters small pieces of the Marrakesh Trellis and also the Number Border No. 1

To finish my page I added my title.  I have to say I love love love Dusty Attic chipboard titles.  I wish I could come up with all those really cool titles but I just struggle.  I find that all the chippie titles are just so easy to work with and take away the hassle of trying to think of something original for me.

Below is a list of Dusty Attic products used

Lilac Whispers - by Kaisercraft

Hello and welcome!

Sharing a layout today that I made a little while ago but I have forgotten to blog.  I must admit I do have a few of these so you may see a few over the next week!

For this one I dug into my stash and pulled out an older collection from Kaisercraft called Lilac Whispers.

Its very soft and pretty and worked perfectly with my black and white pic of my dear mum and myself when she turned 70 last year.

I absolutely love the soft colour palette of this layout.  I teamed it up with some Dusty Attic chippy using those flourishes and also the script.

The circle lace stickers were actually headed for the local kindy in a chuck out I was having but as I was putting them in the box to get rid of I changed my mind and thought mmmm I might give them another shot.  So glad I did!  I LOVE them!  They are an older line from Pink Paislee and I must of had them in my stash for a good 5 years!  I like them so much now I have kept all 3 packs!

I then decided to continue having a play with this collection and thought I would create a layout that I could give away on my Facebook page.  Here is what I created

I did a little mixed media on this one. Not a lot as I have to say as much as I like it its not my thing.  I really struggle with the whole randomness of it.  But I was happy with how this turned out.

A lovely lady who I was lucky enough to meet in Brisbane a couple of years ago won this layout and she was thrilled.

Thanks for stopping by and being apart of my creative journey.

Until next time

Blessed with Kaisercraft!

Hello and welcome to my little part of scrappy cyberspace!

Today I want to share a layout with you using the new Kaisercraft collection - Blessed.

You know sometimes you see a collection and there are parts that you really like about it that just draws you in?  Well that's how I felt about this collection.  I loved the pretty watery colour flowers along with the sketch look as well as the beautiful quotes.  The only thing I found a challenge was the orange.  I am not an orange gal!  But of course it was mixed with pink and being as pink is my favourite colour, I thought I would give it a go.

Here is what I came up with

I started by making one big cluster using the sticker sheet and the collectables and then added in some of the gorgeous new release chippy by Dusty Attic.  I love adding chipboard to my page.  It just adds a little something extra.

The photos on my layout aren't the best but that was back in a time where they were all developed on a film and we sat waiting anxiously for a couple of days wondering what we were going to get!  No editing then!

I am hoping to teach this as a class so keep a look out for dates!

I will leave you with a couple of close ups.

Thanks so much for stopping by

Until next time

Happy scrapping

January Mood Board for Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty FANattics!

Jo here with you today to share with you my take on the January mood board.

Seriously how pretty are the colours in this colour board?

To start my layout off I used some Distress Oxide inks and made the blue toned panel at the top of my page.

I then added some texture paste through a stencil.

Then I set about placing my photos and adding my pretties on top.

I tucked under some of the perforated mesh chipboard after giving it a light coating with some gesso.

Next I added some texture paste to the anchor chipboard in a bit of a rough fashion so that it still had a bit of texture.  When it was dry I then added some spray mists.  I love how that turned out!

My seagulls I gave another light coat of gesso to them and then coloured them with a little distress oxide.

I then adhered the rope knot under my photos.  I love all the etched details in this chippy so I just left it raw.  To finish off my layout I needed a title (something a struggle with) BUT these wordplay words are perfect!  They added the right sentiments for my layout and also gave a bit of a pop of colour with the black.

These are the Dusty Attic pretties that I used.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope I have inspired you to give this months mood board a go and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Until next time
