I finally managed to get a half decent photo of my two big boys together.  Gosh as they get older it gets harder to get a nice photo.  They want to pull faces and act like total clowns!

I always struggle a little with boy pages but happy with how this one turned out.

I pulled out some Dusty Attic chippy (my fav) and teamed it up with some (wait for it) Christmas papers from Couture Creations - Highland Christmas.  I know right!  Christmas papers - but the tones in this collection are quite muted and dark so for me, they were perfect for layering papers under my photo.

I cut down a the big 12 x 12 piece of geo square chipboard to use just a couple of pieces and gently swiped it with a black inkpad making sure to miss some spots.  I added some white microbeads over the top for a bit of texture as well as splattering with white paint.

My cogs I embossed with Tarnished Metals embossing powder and then added some prima waxes over the top.

The background I very gently rubbed some distress oxides over the top of my page with peacock feathers and then added some texture paste over the top of that.

One photo two ways

Hello and welcome to my scrappy corner

Today I have two layouts to share with you.

I have scrapped the same photo twice as I wanted to give one layout to my daughter and the other to her bestie in a boxed frame.

This first one I used a beautiful cut file with open triangles on and backed them with the pretty paper. Using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks I gave the file a light colouring.  Then added all my pretty flowers and also some lace made using embossing paste and silicone mates.  The frame I also made by spreading some embossing paste into a silicone mat.  These are great as they are so light on your page.

This one is for my daughters bestie.  For all the time that teenagers waste on their phones today, sometimes they get some really lovely shots.  They see life differently to us and I love this pic the girls took just hanging together and the little heart filter over the top of the pic

Here is my second layout

Again I have used a cut file tho it is a little hard to see coz as usual I have covered it up with so much pretty stuff.  I have used the same inks again (boy I love those oxide inks!) and then added some more silicone moulds that I made.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL - Mini album

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

Today I have a mini album to share with you complete with video.

When Couture Creations released the beautiful Cest La Vie paper line, straight away I knew that I had to create a mini album with it.  It is just the prettiest of collections. 

I have made a smaller than usual mini album.  This one measures 4.5 inches x 4.5 inches so I was a little limited when it came to embellishing.  I had to keep it simple so I have used some the pretty ephemera pieces and also those gorgeous metal trinkets and then let the beautiful papers do all the work.  This is a little photo heavy but I hope you enjoy.

I have only taken photos of the base pages not with all the interactive pages out but you will get an idea on how it all opens up with the video.

For the cover I used the beautiful chipboard frame in the collection as well as those lovely chipboard fern leaves and a metal trinket.

This was so much fun to make.  Until next time

A Fathers Love

Hello paper people and Happy New Year

Yes I know I have been extremely lazy with blogging but have decided this year that I would jump back in. So here is a layout I completed a little while ago.

For this layout I put my cameo through its paces and cut out the background cogs.  I cut them out on chipboard and then went to work altering them using some chunky embossing powder and then going over them with the Prima metallic waxes.  A little bit of stamping on the background and I also used some of Kaisercraft's Factory 42 collection. 

I love how this turned out.  Usually my pages are very heavily embellished with flowers and pretty stuff but for this one I thought I would try something a little different.

Thank you and goodbye

Hello beautiful people!

 

 

 

 

Today I say goodbye. What an amazing ride it has truly been.  I will be forever thankful for every opportunity that I have been given.  I started with the team in 2013 and the last few years have been truly one of the most rewarding experiences I have had.

 

To each and everyone of you that has followed my creative journey, left me beautiful comments on my work - I say a massive thank you.  Every one of your comments were read and meant so much to me. Thank you for allowing me to share my love of paper craft with you. It has been an absolute honour and a joy to get to know you.

 

I will still be around creating, its in the blood so please feel free to "friend" me on Facebook if you want to keep up with my scrappy adventures.  For the immediate future, I am hoping to continue teaching classes and inspire those that share the same love as I do.

 

To everyone that I have had the pleasure of working alongside of on the team at various stages - thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Your love, support and most importantly your friendships are invaluable

 

Finally I can not thank Artdeco enough for taking a chance on me.

 

Today I thought I would take you for a little walk down memory lane and share with you some of my fav pieces of work over the last few years.

 

This is were it all started!  This was my very first blog post for Couture Creations.  Yep I still have these cards packed away! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This layout will always be special to me.  This was the layout I designed and taught at Creative Inspiration Live.  What and adventure!  What a truly wonderful experience!  So many friendships made and happy times to cherish.

 

 

I have a bit of a soft spot for embossing folders and this one fast became a favourite.  Called Joe's Garden - maybe its the name? LOL

 

 

These cards are using the beautiful Vintage Rose papers.  I still remember how excited we all were when we released this paper line. We hadn't been doing paper for very long and this was so exciting!

 

 

Now this one is a long way back from the archives.   This was a stamp and emboss set.  Lots of fun and I love that stamp!

 

With a good embossing folder you can make anything.  Another favourite - Tied Together

Oh Sue Smyth!  I fell in love with this range - Magnolia Lane. I think this is probably my favourite range.  Yep those pretty soft pinks get me all the time.

 



Always up for a mini album.  These are my favourite things to make

 



 

Die cut n bond - my best friend!  Making these acetate cards was a breeze using this stuff.  These are dies from the On The Edge collection

 

The Ritz - so far out of my comfort zone but I grew to really enjoy working with this collection

A sweet treat box.  This was a lot of fun!

Moments - Bohemian Bouquet

Hello! Jo here today sharing with you another 8.5" x 11" layout with you.

 

I must say I have really enjoyed the smaller pages.

 

Today I am working with the oh so pretty Bohemian Bouquet.

 

 

 

For this layout I have used the 6 x 6 paper pad and teamed it up with some of the chipboard from the collection.

 

For some sparkle I have cut out the Wrought Iron Frame Die from glitter paper.

The decoupage flowers were perfect for layering under my paper cluster

Card with the Ritz

Hello!  Jo back again today to share with you some really super quick and easy cards using the Ritz collection.

 

 

This collection has come in really handy for the cards and layouts for men but there is also some lovely gold foil images for the ladies too.
