Magnolia Card

Hey everyone,

I was lucky enough to add to my little stash of Magnolia stamps a few weeks ago from a lovely lady named Bronlyn.  She was selling off alot of her Maggie stamps so I was lucky enough to grab a few and they have been sitting looking at me and just waiting patiently to be inked up.

I finally had a chance to have a play yesterday.

I used my prisma pencils for this.  I am still practising with those copics. Grrrrr I really don't them easy to use but I will stick at it.

The papers on my card are from the new Kaisercraft paper line Lavender  Haze.

Thanks for stopping by and for all the lovely coments you leave.  It really does brighten my day!

75 cents

Yippee its the weekend!  Happy days!

Hope whatever you are doing you have a wonderful weekend.  I think mine is going to be spent running my children around.  They seem to have more social life than I do! Hehehe.

I have still been playing around with the gorgeous 75 cents paper line from Kaisercraft.  Oh my  this really is becomming a fast favourite.  I love the vintage feel to it all and yet it still looks great with modern pics.  Here's another layout with my middle boy.

I pulled out my Lucky 8 punch for the lovely ornate square piece.  I have had this for a while but I just forget to use it.  The title didnt photograph too well.  It is some black thickers and I have just put some kindy glitz on it.  It says Tea 4 two.  This photo was taken one Mother's Day at school when he was only in year 3 and the class made an afternoon tea for all the mums.  We also got a lovely flower made from tissue paper.  I still have that flower tucked away somewhere in my box of treasures!  This little man is now graduating from year 7 and on to high school next year.  Hurts my heart sometimes that they have to grow up so quick.

Thanks for stopping in.  Enjoy your weekend!

75 Cents Kaisercraft

Hello!

Hope you are all well?

I picked up the new papers from Kaisercraft a few weeks ago now and finally pulled them out to have a play.  Wow!  I LOVE this range!  Its a bit vintage but works perfect for boys I think and I always have trouble scrapping my boys.  I'm such a flower and girly girl that sometimes I really struggle what to use on a boy page.  Well I have decided to embrace it and just go with the flow.  Instead of trying to be something that I'm not, Im going to just scrap how I like and make it work.  So heres my page.

I know, still flowers on a boy page, but I think it works.  What do you think?  I love the frame which is from Scrapmats.   I have also been using a little bit if texture paste lately too.  I really like the feel of it.

Yesterday was one of those days for me.  The car broke down, I had to walk and catch trains and buses to get myself home but I did manage to get to my local scrapbook shop.  I came accross some gorgeous stamps.  I almost didn't get them but in the end I thought oh well why not.  So glad I did!  This is a card I made with one of the lil cuties.

Isn't she cute?  Perfect for colouring but I did paper piecing.  There is about 3 of these little girls in the pack with a few sentiments as well.

I'm working on some more with the 75 cent paper line from Kaiser so I will share that with you all soon.

Have a wonderful day!

Scrapping with Simple Stories

Hello and thanks for stopping by.

I have been playing around with a paper pad by Simple Stories.  Nice bright bold colours and put this layout together.

This was book week last year at school.  When I took the photos I was a little stumped as to what papers to use but I think these ones are perfect  All the little elements just seem to tie in together.  No dimension at all on this which is good sometimes as it doesnt take long for your albums to become full.  I still need to scrap the pics of my son.  He went as Where's Wally so more red papers will be needed I think.  Hmmm I struggle using red to scrap.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by tomorow for a new sketch for Feeling Sketchy.  Enjoy whats left of your weekend!

Cards with Megs Garden

Good morning!

I recently picked up a small packet of 6 x 6 papers from my local scrap shop.  I think they are from Megs Garden called Le Jardin.  Oh my they were soo very pretty.  They sat on my desk for ages and I just looked and stroked them lovingly (don't laugh, Im sure you have all done that too!)  It took ages for me to make the first cut.  Anyway I ended up coming up with some cards.

The photo is not the best, but if you click on the actual picture you will get a better look.  I then decided to submit them into the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.  Well I didn't hear back from them for a while and in the meantime I sold them to a friend.  Would you believe it about 2 days after I sold them I got an email back saying they would like to include them in their magazine! Arrghhh!  Never mind there is always next time.

Thanks for stopping by and a big thank you for all the lovely comments and messages I have received over the last couple of days.  It warms my heart!  Have a wonderful day!

DT Mad About Scrappin March Challenge

Another month has rolled around so that means a new challenge over at Mad About Scrappin.

Here is our challenge for this month.

Here is March's Challenge in its frame!!!
I couldn't wait to get started with this.  Pink and green are one of my fav colour combo's.  Well ok anything with pink is fine with me!! Hehehehe

Here's my page

This precious little baby of mine is turning 10 on Thursday.  Where has the time gone?  Here is a couple of close ups of the embellies

I used  some texture paste and some spritzing on this layout.  I love the feel of the textured paste and its great to get your hands dirty every now and then.  Yep I have hand stitched this whole page again.  Nuts I know but I really like the look of the hand stitching.

Still heaps of time for you to get your creation in and some great prizes up for grabs!  Don't forget to check out what the other DT gals have done too.

Friday Sketch Challenge and a layout

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by.

I have a card to share today that I am entering into the Friday Sketch Challenge blog.  I have been saving these papers for a little while now coz they were so pretty.  They are from Docraft.  I love pink and blue and this little La La Land image just fitted the colours perfectly.

This was such a fun sketch.  I have coloured her with my copics.  This was my very first attempt with my copics and I wasn't overly happy with it so I also used my prisma pencils.  I loved how the colours just popped!

I have been super busy lately in my little scrap corner of the house creating up a storm but it is all DT work so I can't show you much.  I do have a quick layout to share tho.  I'm such a bad scrapper when it comes to scrapping school pics.  They just seem to pile up year after year and having 3 children you can image how many photos I still have to scrap!  I pulled this pic out and decided I needed to make a start.

OMGosh!  I can't believe this little angel is turning 10 next week!  Where has the time gone?  Thanks for stopping by and for all your lovely comments.  I really appreciate every single one!

Couture Creations Design Team Application Round 2

Hey friends!

OMGosh!  I am so excited!  I got a call back for round 2 of the Couture Creations Design Team!  Insert squeal here!!!!!!

So for this round we had to submit a project using one of their embossing folders, one of their nesting dies or doily dies and if possible also use co-ordinations paper.

I had the best time this afternoon creating away.  I came up with 5 cards but I have decided to go with this one for my entry.  It was such a hard decision for me because I was really pleased with all of them.    Anyway, here is my entry

My card has a frame in the middle and I have placed some accetate that was also embossed behind it.

To make this card I used some co-ordinations burgandy cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Diamond Trellis embossing folder.  I then used an emery board (or you can use a sanding block) and gently sanded back the top of the paper.  It leaves a beautiful distressed look.

I then matted it to a piece of black card stock. Its a good idea to use repositional tape for this part as you will need to slide your embossed accetate piece between the burgandy and black piece of card.

Now place the second largest die from the Nesting Dies Victorian Squares in the middle of that piece and run it through your Cuttlebug.  You may need to run it through your machine a couple of times so that it cuts through both pieces.

Your piece should now look like this.

You will now need to use this piece as a template to cut out the middle of the card front.  Line it up and run it through your Cuttlebug again.

You should now have a white card with a cut out in the front and an embossed piece of burgandy cardstock.

Emboss a piece of accetate with your choice of embossing folder. This can now be sandwiched between the burgandy and black cardstock in the middle of the frame.

Make a frame using the largest and second largest nesting dies by nesting them inside each other on some black cardstock and running them through your cuttlebug.

This is how your frame should look

This whole piece can now be stuck onto your card front lining up with the cut out.  Adhere your black frame to the front to cover the edges and embellish your card with blossoms.  Stamp the inside of your card so that your sentiment shows through the accetate front.

So that's it for my application.  Fingers crossed now.  Whatever happens, I am just totally happy that I got a call back for round 2!

I would still like to share with you my other creations that I have done using the Couture Creations embossing folders and dies.  I must say I LOVE these folders.  They just give you the ability to make your cards a little bit bigger than the average size.

Thanks for stopping by.

Digi Stamps

Hello!  Just popping in quickly to share a card I have just finished.  This was using another of the digi stamps from Funky Kits Sugar Nellie range.

This image was so much fun to colour.  I have kept the card simple with some pretty paper and an embossed piece of cardstock.  Just a couple of buttons to embellish.  I know - no flowers!!!! Very hard for me to not put any on this card but I just thought she looked better all on her own.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.
