CHA - Couture Creations Layouts

Hi everyone

Today I thought I would share with you my layouts I designed for Couture Creations that were displayed at CHA earlier this year.  I must say I was super nervous about it as I have never done anything like that before but I had the best time working with all the new products that have now hit the shelves.

First up is my layout "Alvin"

I love the colours in this layout.  They are from the new paper pads Damask Delight.  So many awesome papers in this pad.

Next is my "Sweet" layout.

Lots of Couture  goodness on this page. From nesting dies to the cute little rocking horse in the Secret Treasures collection.  I have also used another really lovely die called Lotus Filet from the Madeline Collection. Its the lacey one that is peaking out from my photo.

I have again used the Damask Delight paper pad.  The little black tag tucked into the flowers is another new one again from the Secret Treasures collection called Ornamental Rectangle.

My last layout "Delight"  I used the Sew Jo Paper Pad.  Since using these papers they have fast become a favourite!  There is a few dies I have used on this page.  The ric rack die is from the Secret Treasures collection along with the Ornamental Rectangle die

The little heritage clock is from the newly released Glamour Days collection.  I have also used my Victorian Square Nesting Dies to create a border underneath my lace border.

The gate like die that is poking out of my papers is a soon to be released one.

I had a blast playing with all these new products!  Thanks for letting me share.  I will pop back a little later with my cards that I also made for CHA.

Until next time

Where's Wally?

Hey everyone!  Thanks for stopping by.  Today I have another layout to share using the gorgeous Sew Jo paper pad.  This paper pad is fast becoming a favourite and at the top of my "go to" pile!  The papers are so versatile for male or female.  The papers in this layout worked perfectly with my photo of my middle man dressed up for book week.

To create the pretty black border that runs down the side of the blue and cream spotted paper, I used the Ornamental Lace dies Chandeliers Set from the Momento range.  I then cut it in half and placed each strip just under the edge of the paper.

My little squares were from a sheet of paper in the pad.  It reminded me of a patchwork rug so I have just cut out the squares separately and formed a bit of a "patch" background.  Just under my photo I have used the most gorgeous doily!  This one is from the Madeline collection and called Lotus Filet.

Here is a close up of my embellishment cluster.

To create my embellishment cluster, I used the Polaroid Film die from the Secret Treasures collection  I then teamed it up with a couple of hearts.  I first cut them from chipboard and then added some patterned paper.  I have been using up old cereal boxes for chipboard and cutting them twice and layering them.  I found it to be a bit gentler on my poor old little cuttlebug and just gives it a bit more stability.  My hearts are cut from the Hearts Nesting Dies.  I then added a little flourish.  I thought this one tied in really well with the glasses!  The die I used is from the Sophia collection.

To complete my page I have again hand stitched all my papers using my paper piercer from the Handheld essentials set.  I have then splattered a little bit of black ink on my page too.

Thanks for letting me share.  Until next time.  Stay scrappy :)

More Mixed Media and Dylusions Spray Inks

Just a warning - you may need sunglasses for this layout!

I have been playing with some Dylusions spray inks and wow!  The colour is intense!

I had a blast playing with this layout!  I only needed to find a couple of bits of scrap patterned paper and the rest was created with spray, stamping, texture paste, and stencils.  Here is a little close up of the embellishment cluster.

I used a mixture of Prima flowers, some bling, a little wooden veneer heart and a metal key stuck on top of a gingham ribbon.  A mix of some doilies and a chippie circle frame makes it a little different to my usually square layouts.

Really enjoying playing with some new stuff at the moment.

Until next time

Hugs xx

Tiptoe Thru The Tulips Layout

Hello friends!

Hope this post finds you all well?  We are not far now from moving - yipppeeee!!  Finally we can all find some kind of normal!

Just a few weeks ago, I splurged a little on myself and invested in some Faber Castell Gelatos.  I haven't had a lot of time to have a play but I did pull them out the other day and just kind of scribbled on some white cardstock.  Just a bit of a tester I guess.  I really didn't think I would do much with the paper once I scribbled but this is what I ended up with.

They really were super easy to use and a lot of fun.  I then went to work using some texture paste and stamps.  Very different from my usual style.  Bright and not a flower in sight, well apart from the photo.  This photo is of my now 13 year old taken at Araluen in the spring when all the tulips are out.  Was very lucky that he sat still long enough for me to take the shot!

Here's a little close up

It's amazing what you can do with some scrap paper!  This paper was a freebie in one of the scrap magazines.  The little felt heart embellishment was also a freebie from a magazine.  I have had it for years and this was the perfect page to pop it on to.  Loving this whole mixed media thing at the moment!

Until next time

Hidden Treasures with Kaisercraft

Morning all!

Just a quick share this morning using some of the Kaisercraft Hidden Treasures collection,  I love the brown and blue tones in this paper.

This collection has quite a vintage feel to it but I thought this photo of my babies went perfect with the colours.  Lots of distressing, stitching and inking which probably makes it look a lot more vintage too.  Lots of embellishing and layering on this page.

Here are some close up of the embellishment clusters.

I really didn't like the little nesting dolls to start off with but I somehow managed to work them into my page :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time - Scrap happy!

Mixed Media

Hi everyone

My poor little part of the cyber world has definitely been neglected of late. What with buying and selling homes and packing I'm exhausted!!!

I did however have to take a little bit of me time to create this layout.

I have been experimenting with a little bit of mixed media and I must say I am really enjoying it!

This page came about from scraps.  I have been trying so hard to use my scraps of late before indulging in the new range of papers that are always so quick to hit the shelves.  So as I didn't have a lot of paper left, I used lots of stamps, stencils and texture paste to create my background.  I really love the way this turned out.

No title on this page just a tag with the word Happiness, which I thought was enough.  Here is a close up of some of the details.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time

Scrap happy!

Remember This Moment Layout

Hi everyone! It's Jo and its my turn up on the blog today.

Today I have a layout to share using some of the new dies and the gorgeous new Sew Jo paper pads.

I have used just plain white cardstock for my background but to add a little bit of interest I have misted with some black ink and also stamped using Chevron embossing folder from the Harmony collection.

When inking your embossing folder be sure that you use ink that won't stain.  I have used a chalk base ink as it just rinses clean under the tap.  The effect is soft and subtle.

I then went about layering my paper.  Over the top of my paper and running through the middle of my page is one of the new Ornamental Lace dies - Chandeliers Set from the Momento collection.

Also tucked underneath my papers is another of the Ornamental Lace Dies.  This is the Mirror Mirror die from the Madeline Collection.  I have cut this in half and used half at the top of my page and the other half just poking out from my flower cluster.

To give my paper flowers a little more "glam" I ran them through my embossing machine using the Small Dots embossing folder from the Harmony collection.  I also added some black flourishes using the Oscar die from the Sophia collection

I found some really cute little coloured paper bags at a $2 shop so I also embossed this with the Chevron embossing folder again from the Harmony collection.  I then sanded it back with my sanding block to give it a little more depth.

The little pocket holds a love note from my man on the night he proposed to me.  Soppy I know but kinda cute.

To finish my layout I got my trusty paper piercer  from my three piece tool set and pierced all around my papers and then hand stitched.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time - happy scrapping!
