Sweet Kisses Layout for Couture Creations

Hello and welcome to the blog today.  As some of you may know, I recently got married and the new  Hearts Ease papers were perfect for my pics!.  Oh my how pretty they are!

Here is my layout

I always have trouble cutting into my papers for the first time.  I mean seriously they are all so pretty and its so hard to make that first cut!!  So I was a little frugal with the papers and used lots of embellishments.

Here is how my layout came about.

First I selected a piece of paper from the paper pad.  My choice was the Pansy Pressing  paper.  I cut just the edge off and stuck that to a white base.  The papers come with really useful strips along the top so I also used that to.

Next I fished through my dies and selected what I wanted to use.

Here I have used the Feathered Arrow, Cycad Fern (both of these from the Everyday Essentials collection), Keepsake Kandy from the Amaryllis collection, Tall Basket Flowers from the Kalini collection and the Mandshurica die from the Hearts Ease collection.

I then spritzed some flowers for a pop of colour.  The flowers I used were Jewelled Florettes, English Roses and Cottage Pollen.  These white flowers are just awesome to put your own touch on.

I then found a few pieces from the Ephemera pack as well.

Now its time to start and get your layers down.

A little trick that I like to do to help my papers go a little further is make my cuts from the papers I am using and then use the "scraps" for layering on my page.  By the time it is covered over nobody is going to know exactly what is going on underneath and I get another whole piece of paper to play with later :)  The embossing folder is from the Hearts Ease collection.  I have given it a little more dimension by gently rubbing two ink pads over the top of the embossed surface.

I then adhered my photo and placed my embellishments.

Here is a closer look at the embellishment clusters.

The butterflies are from the new Hearts Ease stamp sets.  I have just stamped and gold embossed them and nestled them in my flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your lovely comments.  It is very much appreciated.

Until next time

Fancy Fold Cards

Hello crafters! Jo back again to share today.  Thanks for popping by.

Today I have a couple more cards to share with you.  Yep I have kind of gone a little card crazy the last few weeks.  These cards are a little different in that they are fancy folded cards.

I have used the 6 x 6 Vintage Rose pad for my cards with some of the new dies

Here is a close up of my first card.  Kind of like an easel card but it has the ends cut off.  You will see from the template below how I have made this card.

I have used my favourite Anastasia Set from the Frames n Frills collection for the doily and also the decorative strips down the side panels.  I then layered another piece of patterned paper cut with my circle nesting dies.  Then I added the super cute Honeypot die from the Background savy dies.  On top of this I then put my finishing touches.  I made some flowers using the Sharp Flower die from the Kalini collection.  I cut about 4 of each and just laid them on top of each other.  Poked a Cyad Leaf at the top and my card is done!

Below is a picture tutorial on how I made the card base if your interested in having a go

Cut your card base at  22cm x 14 cm
and score and fold in half

Next cut 4cm of each side of the top of your card.

Then with the little piece that is left in the middle fold it in half and that is the part that you will attach your doily on.

Here is a closer look at my second card.  This is a tent card.

The little butterflies (Edith and Baby die) are attached by a piece of fishing wire.  I have added a little sparkle using some Glitzin Glamour.  The flower patch is another from the Frames N Frills collection called Elissa Set.

Below is a template to help you make your card base.

Hope I have inspired you all in some small way :)

Until next time

Cards with Hearts Ease Embossing Folders

Hello it's Jo back again with a couple of cards using the lovely new embossing folders from the Hearts Ease collection and some dies from the Everyday Essentials collection.

The embossing folders I am using today are the Tied Together folder and the Hearts Ease Frame folder.  Both lovely folders!

I wanted these cards to have a little more depth than just the embossing so here is what I did.

I very gently swiped the raised side of the embossing folder with an inkpad.  My choice of inkpad for this is the Archival black ink pad.  The reason for that is it is actually quite a hard pad so it tends to just hit the spots you need without it smudging into the other crevices  Then run it through your machine.

Once inked up run it through your machine and you will be left with almost a stamped look.  The ink has been transferred to the de-bossed side.  I did this on two pieces of cardstock.

The second piece I cut just a bit smaller but I cut it so it matched the patterned underneath.  Kind of tricks the eye.  I then matted them on some lilac glitter cardstock and stuck them on top of each other.

Next I grabbed a bunch of dies to complete the front of my card.  I used pretty little doily from the Frames N Frills set called Anastasia and the Mandshurica Die from the new Hearts Ease collection.

The flower and leaves are from the Everyday collection.  Whimsy Flower and Cycad Fern.

And here is the end result!

Here is a close up of my other card I made using the same inking technique.  I cut the middle out of the embossed frame and matted it on some green glitter cardstock this time for some extra sparkle.

I have embellished my card with the lovely Edith and Baby die from the Everyday Essentials collection along with a heart from the nesting dies.

I love the colour combo of these cards and how just using a few supplies you have a couple of lovely cards.

Thanks so much for popping by and all your lovely comments.  Until next time

Thank You Cards

Hello paper people!  It's Jo and I'm back today to share a couple of very quick thank you cards.

I have used the Vintage Rose 6 x 6in paper pad for these cards.  Just the perfect size!
Here is a close up of my first card.

I have used 2 dies from the new Hearts Ease collection.  The gorgeous Scrolled Tomentosa which is fast becoming a favourite of mine as it works so well on cards or on layouts, and also the Maviensis die.  I teamed them up with Anastasia set from the Frames N Frills collection.  I then just continued to "layer" them up.  Hand stitched around the edges of my paper for a little extra depth and dimension and finished with the super new Script - Thanks die and the pretty little butterfly is another lovely die from the Everyday Essentials collection.  This is one called Edith and Baby.

My second card I have just layered the same as the first on but I have used one of the Background Savy dies (Crystal Aroma) as a bit of a focal point.  The pretty little circle die is from the Frames N Frills collection - Anastasia Set.  This is a fantastic set as it has a small flower die included which I have used on my card too.  Of course my flowers have to have leaves so I used the Cycad Fern die.

Hope I have inspired you in some small way.
Until next time

Smile with Vintage Rose

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by.

Today I have a layout to share with you, using an assortment of new dies from the latest releases.

I am absolutely thrilled to still be a part of this fantastic team and so looking forward to another year of fun and inspiration!  Thanks so much for all your continued support and lovely comments.  They are truly appreciated.

I have used the beautiful Vintage Rose papers for my layout.  Still having a lovely time playing with these papers!

The pretty little doily is a new release too from the Frames N Frills die collection.  It's called Elissa Set.

This new collection is fantastic as it comes with few dies including the little flower patch that is also used on my layout.

Couture has also released Background Savy Collection.  This collection is full of dies that are perfect for backgrounds on your layouts and also for card makers.  I have used the Honeypot die.

Here is a closer look at the layering and dies.

You can see that really sweet honeypot die just peeping out from the flowers that I fussy cut out.

The other die I have used is one from the new Hearts Ease collection called Scrolled Tomentosa.  I have cut cereal boxes using this die and then just rubbed lightly a brown ink over the top.  I then cut it in half on the diagonal had positioned it poking out of each corner.

All my papers have been handstitched using the paper piercer from the Handheld Essentials pack.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time :)

Cards with All That Glitters

Hello and thanks for stopping by.  Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate Easter too.  We had a lovely day yesterday filled with family and chocolate!  Maybe just a little too much chocolate I must say, but today is a new day.

Today I have some cards to share with you that I made from the scraps from the All That Glitters collection.  I absolutely loved playing with this collection and I know that with a lot of ladies it has become a firm favourite.

I love the pink and green combo with the touch of gold thrown in.  Here's my cards.

Yep all these were made from left overs from the papers and collectables.  I'm really happy with how these turned out.  Here is a close up of each card.

The focus isn't the best sorry.  Think the glitter gets in the way of a good shot.  I am working on getting a photo tent tho to help a little with my terrible photography!

This one is my favourite.  I love that gold frame.  Its a new one from Couture Creations that has received an absolute flogging lately!

Thanks so much for stopping by and whatever you are doing this Easter be safe and have a lovely time.

Until next time

All That Glitters with Kaisercraft

Hello and thanks for stopping by.

I couldn't resist having a play with this beautiful paper line.

I love this photo of me and my hubby.  This was just recently taking on our honeymoon in Tasmania at Cascade Brewery.  I like how with just a bit of black the colours just pop.

The next two layouts are of my little girl.  One recent and one when she was very little.

I inked my doilies with gold ink.  Its a little hard to see the sparkle in this pic but it is lovely and shimmery in real life.

Thanks for stopping by and all your lovely comments.

Until next time
