Sunburnt Country - Couture Creations

Hello paper friends and welcome back.

As many of you know I was on the design team for Couture Creations a few years ago.  It was truly a wonderful experience and even tho I am no longer a part of the team, every so often they ask if I will create with the new an upcoming ranges.

So I was chuffed to be asked to have a play with the new Sunburnt Country that is about to be released here in Australia his month.

The collection has some beautiful Australian inspired papers along with some fabulous mini dies and stamps.

Here are a couple of layouts I have created.

These pics were taken at the Maleny bird park and gardens while holidaying recently in Queensland.  I thought the bird papers were perfect for a bit of fussy cutting.  I die cut out lots of the small eucalyptus die.  The "adventure" is a stamp which I used as a title.

There is a map of Australia in this collection and the really cool thing is that there is also a die that matches the stamp making it super easy to cut out.  I tucked that under the right hand side and just showed the "east coast" of Australia as thats where we were.

The little dragon fly I cut twice and covered the top die cut with the awesome new Card Deco inks in the pigment Golden Red.  It leaves a beautiful shimmery colour.

Tucked under my photo layer on the left hand side is a new hot foil stamp - Australian Flourish.  This is a two piece set.  I used the flourish by inking it first and then die cutting it.   Then I did it again but just left what ink was on the foil stamp so it left a really soft impression.

So for my next layout I wanted to scrap this photo of my eldest boy on his climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.  I also wanted to pop it in a frame for him so I decided to go with a smaller size layout that being an A4 size page.

I love to do this size every so often.  Just makes for a change.

So to start I stamped a couple of those Silver Princess blossoms onto my white background with the black Card Deco ink.  I then added a little colour to them again with the Card Deco ink in Cappuccino.  I made a paper cluster for my photo to sit on .

The mini bridge and Opera House stamp was perfect for my photo!

I then fussy cut some of those bottle brush from the papers and also die cut out the map of Australia.  I die cut it once from heavy cardstock and then used piece of the map papers from the 6 x 6 pad to cover over the top.  While I was busy die cutting I also cut a few of the gumnuts die to tuck in and around my page.

To finish off I used a simple title - Adventure.  This I die cut 3 times from heavy cardstock and then added the Card Deco Golden Red pigment ink over the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
