Dusty Attic Moodboard - December

Hello and welcome back to the blog!

Jo here and Im sharing with you my take on this months delicious moodboard.  Seriously another lovely moodboard.

And here is my layout

This was a challenge for me in that I don't usually use a dark patterned background but I fell in love with this paper collection from our friends at 49 and Market.

First a created a paper cluster for my photo and then tucked under the geo border wich is inked and heat embossed in gold.  I added a chipboard doily and the ornate birdcage.  Both of this I inked with Card Deco ink.

Here are a couple of close ups

We would love to see your take on our moodboard.  Don't forget to share your projects on our Facebook page.

Dusty Attic - Adventure

Hello crafters!

Can you believe we are now well and truly into December and staring down the end of another year?  And what a crazy ride this year has been.  Looking forward to a fresh start next year as we all get used to a new normal.

One thing for sure this year is that with staying home there has been lots of time to get my scrap on.  Today Im sharing a layout featuring two of my three men in my life.  Hubby an my youngest son.  Hubby was lucky enough that some restrictions had lifted and he was able to celebrate turning 50.

So to start my layout I grabbed a bunch of beautiful Dusty Attic Chipboard and created a big embellishment cluster.

I used the jumbo cogs along with the industrial border and some extra cogs and inked them.  I also add the diamonds broken bits to the back.  This then gave me a good guidline in the direction of how my page was going to go.

I added the brick stencil work to the background paper first and then added my photo and some extra die cuts.  Here are a couple of close ups.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you and your loved ones a very happy and safe Christmas!

Lovely - Moodboard November Dusty Attic

Hello and welcome!  Oh my gosh - I had to dive right in when I seen this months mood board.  Seriously sooooo pretty.  Lets have another look.

Seriously pretty hey!

I decided to pull out some pretty 49 & Market paper that I have been hoarding along with some Dusty chippy along with a pic of my daughter (thats her on the left of the pic) and her friend who has just graduated from Year 12 and leaving school.  Another of those proud mum moments!

To start I laid those awesome ornate gates on my page and built up my cluster from there.  I used some Card Deco inks to cover my chippy.

I added the pretty die cuts and also tucked in the chipboard daisies.  These along with that pretty frame I covered with some acrylic paint and then added some glitter glue over the top.

I finished with a really simple title from the Wordpack #14.  I struggle with titles for my layouts, but I find that Dusty Attic have the perfect selection without being too "cheesy"

I hope I have inspired you to give the moodboard a try.  There is is some wonderful prizes up for grabs.

Imagination Tag - Dusty Attic

Hello and welcome back to the blog today.

Today I have a tag to share with you.

Im not really one for much mixed media but every now and then I like to have a little play and I find the chipboard tags wonderful for that.  Nice big tags with lots of room to create.

To start I covered my chipboard tag with some black gesso.  I also covered my chipboard pieces with black gesso.

Using the diamonds stencil I added some texture paste and when that was dry covered it again with black gesso.  Prima waxes were used to add colour to the tag.

I then laid the cogs and cog balloon on my tag and also added some prima waxes.  For a bit of extra texture I added some black cotton.

Very simply but it was nice to get a little messy.  Here is a closer shot

Birthday Cards with Dusty Attic

Hello and welcome!  I hope you are well.

Today I am sharing a couple of cards I created.

I am really enjoying the whole slimline card craze at the moment and with the beautiful Dusty chippy they make creating a breeze!

These cards were super easy to do.  I simply layered some paper on a white card base and then layed some flowers onto the medallions #1.  All the chipboard I covered with distress oxide ink.  Before I adhered it to my card I tucked in some of the gingko biloba.  I finished it with a sweet sentiment from a of different word packs.

Here is a closer look at the card.

My second card I created in pretty much the same way. Instead this time I added  foliage 24 and one of the ATC frames #8.

Moodboard October Dusty Attic

Hello and welcome back to the blog.

We have another stunning moodboard this month to play with.  Gee wizz the Boss does a terrific job with these!

Lets have a look

Not bad hey?  All those beautiful blues and teal tones.

I created a layout.

To start I added some distress oxide ink and a strip of paper to some white cardstock.  I'm not really a wizz with the whole mixed media thing so if I can get some paper that is done for me already, Im one happy camper!

I then coloured my chipboard with ink.  I'm using the Card Deco inks by Couture Creations.  I love using these inks.  They are a pigment ink with a shimmer in so they are also wonderful for heat embossing too!

I used 2 of the iron garnish chipboard border to create a bit of a feature just above me photo and then using the mystic flourish and of course a doily - I made the cluster to the left of the photo.

I didnt go over the top with the embellishing on this layout.  I find that when I use small photos (3inch x 4 inch) and I add a good size focal cluster sometimes thats enough.  Otherwise I feel like the embellishing takes over the photo.

Here are a couple of close ups

Kept the title simple too using one of the words from the Wordpl@y sets.

I hope I have inspired you to have a go at the moodboard.  Have a go.  There is is some wonderful prizes up for grabs.
