Hello paper people!
I have been lucky enough this month to have a play with the newly released Ooh La La collection.
Oh my this collection is seriously lovely!
The brown and cream tones go perfectly with old heritage photos but also work for everyday scrapping too.
So I chose an old pic of my dear mum and her puppy and it teamed perfectly with the new collection.
This collection is truly beautiful. Lots of stunning dies and they are so intricate. I have used the Ornate Entrance set. I love how this looks tucked under the photo. You will also see a die cut from the Intrinsic & Ornamental set poking out from the top of my photo. Teamed up with both of the ephemera packs and it makes scrapping such a joy!
So I decided to try something a little different. Have you seen our new stencils by Anna Griffin? Now I'm not much of a mixed media buff but decided I would try them in a different way and trace around the stencil and then hand stitch.
It seemed like a great idea and I love the end result, but oh my it was alot of work!
Here is a quick pic tutorial on how I created the stitching effect.
First I traced around the stencil with a pencil on some scrap paper.
The using my "pokey tool" I pierced little holes all around the outline. I hand stitched with a running stitch over the pattern.
Here is a closer look at the stitching details.
I was also lucky enough to have a play with the new Anna Griffin pigment powders. Now these are LOTS of fun to play with.
I just took a little bit of the powder out of the pots, mixed with water and a paintbrush and then painted my flowers. They are so shimmery in real life!
Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your beautiful comments. We truly do appreciate it.
