Best of Mates layout

Hi friends!

Back today with a layout that is a little different to my layouts that are usually flooded with flowers!  This one I had so much fun doing and by adding a little bit of stamping and misting I was able to create a boy page that I am finally happy with.

I used a few embellishments from D-lish Scraps for this layout.  I didn't go overboard with the embellishments but I think it is just enough.  The polaroid frame I made myself with just some cardstock and then ran a little ink over it.

Here is a couple of close ups.

Love these flair badges from D-lish Scraps!  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Layout Pre Primary

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping by.

Today I have a layout to share with you using some of the new products that were released at CHA last month.

I wanted a bright and fun look to this page.  I took some inspiration from the photo of my little man and as he was sitting in a tree, thought it would be really cool to pop some clouds in the top right hand corner to create an out doors kind of effect.  After I cut them out I embossed them with the Small Dots embossing folder from the Harmony Collection.  I then ran a blue inkpad over the embossed part just to make my clouds "pop" a little more.  I have also embossed the small blue tag tucked under the photo with the same folder and sanded the top off.

I have also used the Project Journal Cards embossing folder again from the Harmony Collection.  This folder is great as its one folder but has two cards on.  I haven't yet marked the date on this but I intend to pop perhaps a small star button on the number to represent the date.  The line note paper part was perfect to pop my title on but would also be great to journal on as well.

Here's a closer look

Down the bottom I have used 2 new dies from the Secret Treasures Decorative Die Collection.  The Ornamental Rectangle I have cut in half and layered and then placed the Classic Chevron over the top.

I finished of using a little more of the Classic Chevron under the clouds and a couple of banners.  Also popped a couple of circles cut from my Circle Nesting Dies for a bit of extra interest and a cute pinwheel .  A few doodled lines bought the whole thing together.

Thanks again for allowing me to share.

Until next time

Couture Creations Design Team Audition 2014

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Well my time on the Couture Creations is fast coming to an end.  I have had  a wonderful time on this team and absolutely love their products that when the call went out for the new DT for 2014 I had to put my hand up for another go.

Here are my projects that I am submitting.

I decided to go with 2 cards and 2 layouts.

For my first card I have used some distressed ink and the Powder Puff embossing folder.   Teamed it with a doily die and my heart nesting dies and then finished with my sentiment and a blossom.  Added some Glitzing Glamour for some sparkle.

I love how this turned out with the soft pastel colours.

My second card I stuck with the soft pastel colours again.  This time I used some Co-ordinations cardstock and a couple of my favourite Couture embossing folders.

I then used one of my favourite doily dies  and the beautiful butterfly die.  This is another favourite :)  Added my sentiment and a blossom in the middle of the butterfly.  I did cheat a little on this card and instead of hand stitching all around my squares, I faux stitched with a white gel pen and my trusty paper piercer.

I love love love how this layout turned out!  I used a variety of Couture doily dies and cut my photo in to a circle using my circle nesting dies, instead of the usual shape photo.  I placed a heap of flowers around the page and then tucked in a few black flourishes for to make my page "pop".  I have again used the butterfly die and added some gemstones to the middle.  This time I decided to hand stitch around my page and also up through the middle of my banners.  A bit of texture paste and some stamping for a little extra interest and my page was done.

This last layout is definitely a little different for me!  So bright and cheery.  I have used the chevron embossing folder on some pattern paper and sanded it back to show the white underneath.  Using the star border die I cut two but reversed one to make a bit of a border along the bottom of the photos.

I cut 2 hearts from the nesting dies using cereal boxes and then cut them again using patterned paper to fit directly over the top.  Just gives it a little more dimension.  My Victorian Rectangle nesting dies always seem to get a good workout as they are so good for sliding in different places to use as tags.

Seriously I have had the best time ever on this wonderful team.  Good luck to all the other gals that are trying out for the team.

Until next time

Enchanted Garden by Kaisercraft

Hello friends!

Wowsers!  It has really started to heat up here in Perth Western Australia and it always seems to be just when the children head back to school after Christmas holidays.

Yep my little cherubs have all gone back to school now and I find myself at home on my own enjoying some peace and quiet tho sometimes I must admit it is a little too quiet for my liking!

Anyways, just wanted to share with you a couple of layouts I have finished using the Enchanted Garden paper range from Kaisercraft.

I dusted off my Lucky 8 punch and gave that a run and also used some of the gorgeous Scrapmatts chippie.  Love this pic of my mummy and me taken at Christmas

This next one kind of came about using the scraps that I had left.  Didn't think I would be able to get much of a page out of it but by adding some stamping and the rest of the collectable pack I managed to create something that I'm happy with!

These papers weren't my favourite at first but after playing with them for a little while they have actually grown on me.

Thanks for popping by and allowing me to share with you.

Until next time

3 in 1 Dreamboat Collection

Hi everyone!

Thanks for stopping by.  This month I have been playing around with the 3 in 1 Dreamboat collection that was released late last year.

Today I have two cards to share.  Here's my first one using the Butterfly Notes.

Let me show you how I created this card.

Below is what you will need.

Using your blending tool, blend and mix your inks over the paper.  Keep blending until you reach your desired result.   You will end up with something like this

Next ink up your stamp from the set and stamp onto your paper that you have just prepared.

I stamped it twice along the bottom and then trimmed it off to fit my card better.

Using the embossing folder from the set line up your stamped image in the folder and run it through your machine.

I then again used the stamps and stamped onto some patterned paper and diecut them out with the dies from the set.  I also used my Circle Nesting Dies to make my sentiment.  Matt onto some black cardstock and then onto your card, some Glitzin Glamour and pearls and your done!

For my next card I decided to keep it very simple but I still think it is striking.

I have used the Floral Wreath set again from the Dreamboat Collection.

Here is what you will also need to create this card.

Gently using your anti static pad swipe across your paper that you are stamping on.  This really does help improve the quality of the embossing.  Ink up your stamp with Versamark ink and stamp onto your white cardstock.

Pour over some gold embossing powder and then place the excess back in the bottle.

I love to watch embossing powder melt.  Here is a look at the embossing process half way through.

You can then run in through your embossing machine making sure that your line up your stamped impression with the folder.

I then did exactly the same process with the flower stamp and after it was embossed I cut it using the die in the pack.  I then also cut out a smaller die and layered it on top and attached a pear brad to secure it all.

Stamp your sentiment and mat on black cardstock and it is ready to be attached to a white card.

Thanks for letting me share!
