And here is my take on it.

I really enjoyed this sketch!

The optional challenge this week is to use 4 different ribbons.

This months prize is the very cute "Marci with Umbrella" rubber stamp from La La Land Crafts.

So be sure to get your entry in each week for your chance to win the randomly drawn prize at the end of the month. Each of the top picks for the May challenges will earn themselves an extra entry into the prize draw.

New Bike layout

Hello friends!

Wow the weather has turned a little chilly here in the last few days.  Looks like we may finally see a little bit of winter!  Yippee!  Perfect weather for staying inside and scrapping away :)

I really haven't done a lot of scrapping lately.  Instead I have taken on a huge job in knitting a HEAP of scarves for the kids school for a fundraiser.  The things you do!!

I did manage to pull out an Echo Park paper pack and have a play.  This one is the Sisters mini themed kit.

This is what I came up with

I had a bit of a play with some texture paste and some stamping.  The chipboard butterfly frame is from WOW.  The colours are a bit different to what I would usually use.  For some strange reason I'm actually into yellow at the moment.  Go figure.  Not really one of my go to colours but it was nice to have a bit of a change.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Hugs

Feeling Sketchy no. 59

Hey everyone and a Happy Mother's Day for yesterday to all the mums out there!

I hope you all had a lovely relaxing day with your family.  We had a very quiet day with toast and coffee in bed with all the early morning frivolity of cuddles and presents with the kids and then a late lunch/early dinner with my dear mum.  BLISS!

So the new sketch is up over at Feeling Sketchy blog.  Here it is.

The optional extra this week is no sentiment on your card.

Here is my take on the sketch

We have a new release LaLa Land stamp up for a prize this month.  Pop over to the blog and have a look at what the other DT gals have done for some added inspiration.

Enjoy your week!

Mini Album - Couture Creations

Hey scrappers!  Its Jo and I'm back today to share a mini album I have made using Couture Creations yumminess.

I LOVE making mini albums.  I don't have a tutorial for this but you will find heaps of different ideas on Youtube.

This mini was made with paper bags which allows for lots of pockets.  I stuck most of them down.

On the front I have used my Rectangle Nesting Dies to create a frame.  I have also used a flourish die from the Tranquility Collection.  I have also used the new doily dies (Ivy Set).  These little doilys are a perfect size for mini albums and also cards.  I can see these being used all the time and are becoming a firm favourite.

To bind my book I have used the Damask Flourish embossing folder and rubbed a bit of ink over it to give it a warm look.  The butterfly is also a die.

Here I have used my circle and scallop nesting dies to create a mat for my photo.  The embossing folder is Pastorale from the Romantique Collection.

Again I have used the circle nesting dies and embossed them with the large damask embossing folder and the Dandiya embossing folder.  Another doily die too slipped underneath and finished with the magical butterfly die.

The paisley border nesting die was used to  make this frame, which I left open to slip a photo in.

The hearts nesting dies have been used to create an embellishment on this page along with the doily die.  I have also used the tranquility flourish tucked under the blossom (another fav die I use all the time).

By using the rectangle nesting dies and the scallop rectangle nesting dies I was able to make two photo mats, and there is that pretty tranquility flourish again (see told you it was a favourite :)).

I used just the top part of the Dandiya embossing folder as the photo mat on this page and the Petite Fleur embossing folder with a piece of patterned paper down the middle to make the base of the next page.

The page on the right was made using the Bradshaw embossing folder (a fav) from the Romantique Collection.  I used my hearts nesting dies to cut out a couple of chipboard hearts and then I embossed them with the large Damask Flourish embossing folder and rubbed some ink over the top.

I kept a pocket on this page and made a tag using the rectangle and scallop nesting dies.  Another half doily poking out of the flower cluster and magical butterfly to finish.

I had so much fun making this!  If you click on the actual pics you will get a closer look.  I hope I have inspired you to pull out your embossing folder and dies and don't forget to upload your beautiful creations to our Facebook wall.  We LOVE seeing your work!

Until next time

Mad About Scrappin - March Challenge

Hey everyone!   Can you believe a new month has come around again?  I am finding it hard to believe that we are almost half way through another year!

So a new month means a new challenge over at Mad About Scrappin and I'm always up for a challenge :)

Here are the details

Photo: May Challenge - Colour and Black and white photo, Stencil/Template and wings are to be used on your layout/card or OTP project!
I decided to scrap one of my boys for a change.  I struggle with boy layouts but really enjoyed this challenge.

This was my youngest boys first time at a concert.  We had a blast!

I have used some texture paste and also traced around the template to get the spots.  I then found an image on the net of a guitar with wings and printed it onto some kraft cardstock and cut it out with my circle spellbinders to create a bit of a unique embellishment.

Hope I have inspired you all to have a go at this months challenge.  Have a go!  We love to see your wonderful creations.

Thanks for letting me share :)

Hugs

Feeling Sketchy no. 58

Good morning friends :)

Here is the new sketch up on the Feeling Sketchy blog

This weeks optional challenge is to use a sentiment as the main focus on the card.

It is also time for a new monthly prize and this month's prize will be from La La Land Crafts. (There will be more info for you in the next challenge.) So be sure to get your entry in each week for your chance to win the randomly drawn prize at the end of the month. Each of the top picks for the May challenges will earn themselves an extra entry into the prize draw.

Here's my take on this weeks sketch

I have really been enjoying playing with my embossing folders at the moment.  I have used some co-ordinations cardstock and ran it through my cuttlebug.  I then sanded the top layer off to make the flowers "pop" a little.  The butterfly is a Cheery Lyn die.

Pop over and have a look at the what the other DT gals have come up with and say hello to our new designers.

Have a wonderful week :)

Couture Creations - My Sonshine

Hi everyone.  Its my turn today on the Couture Creations blog and I am sharing with you a layout.

I really struggle when it comes to boy layouts, so I went back to basics with this one.  I went with circles and based my page around that.  Here's how I came up with this page

First I  sprayed some white mist and splatters on my background page.  I then used a mask and texture paste just to create a bit of dimension.

Using the Persuasion Blooms embossing folder I embossed two pieces of paper.

I then lined them up to make one long strip

Using a blue inkpad I very lightly rubbed over the embossed parts of the paper just to make it "pop" a little.  This can now be stuck to your page.

By making some banners you will cover up the join and it will look like one complete strip.

Next I grabbed my trusty circle nesting dies.  I really cant live without these.  I use them for cards and scrapbooking.  I cut my photos into circles using the largest die.

Then using the second largest die and the biggest die together I created a frame to go around the photos

You can now start placing all your pieces onto your page.  To make a couple of extra embellishments, I rubbed some rub-on sayings onto some accetate and then using the circle nesting dies I cut them out.

Here's another look at the finished page

Thanks for letting me share.  Until next time
